When you are tasked with building a digital platform like the Wooter App, where does the process start?
The process starts with the League experience. Knowing what leagues and league owners want. We’ve been playing in leagues all our life, and from this we created the idea for the Wooter App Platform. A simple, easy to use app for league owners to manage their organizations and for players to digest their stats and league content.
The sports tech industry is constantly changing and growing….where there certain influences or research that you drew from?
We looked at the market heavily. From a combination of our research and our personal experience, we created an experience that we think is the ideal and that also compliments our basketball apparel line as well. We simplified as much as possible and have built what we believe to be the most rock solid stats engine and sports app in the world when it comes to basketball. With our sports app – any league in the world can have their own personal app with everything their organization needs on the Apple and Play stores in just 5 business days. A custom, fully branded app.
Teams from recreational leagues, youth sports, college and professional sports, have partnered with Wooter Apparel and have their league featured on the Wooter App.
You really are covering everything; from starting your league, to managing and making team updates, and the chance to order apparel too — even hiring the game officials…how long did it take to take the Wooter App from the initial idea/ideas to actually launching and the app going live?
It took about 2 years to get something solid out there. We are still working on developing a stats app and web registration payments. But that should take no longer than a month or two. With that, we’ll be where we envisioned ourselves in years past. But even now, we have an active clientele with new signups everyday.
