A new era has dawned for the NCAA and Wooter Apparel is here to embrace the welcomed change for college student-athletes each step of the way.
On July 1, it was announced by the NCAA’s board of directors that NCAA athletes in the country can agree to partnerships and endorsements through a variety of ventures thanks to new rules on Names, Images, and Likeness. The new rules also represent an opportunity for global brands like Wooter Apparel to further extend the opportunity to work more closely with NCAA student-athletes.
In the past seven years, Wooter Apparel has designed and created customized jerseys and uniforms for a number of college athletic programs at all levels including Florida Atlantic University, Reedley College, and Immaculata University among others. Now, Wooter Apparel is offering the chance for NCAA student-athletes to partner together as they navigate the NIL waters and explore ways to establish and grow their personal brand.
“This is an important day for college athletes since they all are now able to take advantage of name, image and likeness opportunities,” NCAA president Mark Emmert said in a statement.
“With the variety of state laws adopted across the country, we will continue to work with Congress to develop a solution that will provide clarity on a national level. The current environment — both legal and legislative — prevents us from providing a more permanent solution and the level of detail student-athletes deserve.”
The new NIL rules allow athletes to profit by monetizing social media accounts, signing autographs, teaching camps or lessons, starting their own businesses, and participating in advertising campaigns, among many other potential ventures. In addition, athletes will be allowed to sign with agents or other representatives to help them acquire endorsement deals.
In each and every instance, Wooter Apparel is here to team-up with NCAA athletes to be brand ambassadors, partner on sportswear clothing collaborations, earn money, development and grow your personal brand, or to custom make sports apparel that is unique to a respective athlete. This is the time. This is the place.
When it comes to NIL, Wooter Apparel has NCAA athletes fully covered.
